No power, no fun!
Around the beginning of this month, we had a big storm here that knocked our power out for three full days! That was no fun with little ones in the house. Being chilly (especially at night) reminded us of living in Japan with no central heating when we had to turn off our kerosene heaters at night while we slept… We spent more time window shopping, at playlands, and at malls in those three days than we had in months!!! Anywhere that was warm and where the boys could burn off some energy, we hung out! We did spend one night at a friend’s house from church. We were very grateful to have a warm place to stay!
Levi even missed the first day of school after the winter break because the school was still without power. We were all so happy when the power did come back on! There was much rejoicing in our household!
This week, half of us have been battling a nasty cold (and maybe a touch of the flu). It’s kept us in (and also battling cabin fever) quite a bit. Hopefully we are all on the mend. Even among the colds, we are still enjoying some of the firsts in life…the first loose tooth, learning to roll over, making it to the toilet to throw up (instead of the floor!), and learning to button pants! Isn’t life and all of its surprises fun?!?
Hope all is well in your neck of the woods. Two blog entries in the same month…I’m doing pretty good!
